The beginning of my love affair with Anthropologie.......

Allow me to introduce myself.  My name is Meghan and I'm just an average 28-year-old gal enjoying life as a newlywed and dreaming about all things pretty, vintage, and chic.  I decided to start this blog because of my new found obsession with Anthropologie........

"New found???" you may ask?  Well, I've been familiar with Anthropologie's existence for quite some time (thanks to my very fashion savvy cousin).  I'd been to the store several times with my mom and was blown away by all the cutesy unique things, but never actually bought anything.  Every once in a while, I'd glance at the website (mostly to scope out their handbags and jewelry) and made a couple select purchases here and there.  So, you could say that Anthropologie and I were acquaintances for a while.  And then it finally happened......our acquaintance status turned into a full-blown love affair.  I officially became head-over-heels in love with Anthropologie.  The crazy, all-you-can-think-about, constant-daydreaming, stalking-the-website-daily kind of love.

It all started that past July because I was looking for a cute, pretty, casual dress to wear for our engagement photo shoot.  Shopping for dresses is a nightmare for me because it seems like I can never find anything cute in the local stores (I live in mid-Michigan and the selection of unique fashionable retail establishments is very limited.... *sigh*).  It's times like these I wish I lived in a big city!  So, I finally began searching online under the criteria "cute, pretty, vintage, casual dresses" and stumbled upon many blogs and articles stating that Anthropologie was the place to look for amazingly cute and unique dresses.  Although I'd never purchased an article of clothing from Anthro before (aside from a super-pretty apron), I went to the website to check out the dresses.  Sure enough, I was in heaven!  After drooling over almost every single item on the website, I added the Secret Treasure Dress, Over and Under Wedges, and Claude's Retreat Tank (wasn't really looking for a tank, but I just couldn't resist this beauty!) in my shopping bag, checked out, and anxiously awaited my beautiful new Anthro items!

Since that day I haven't gone more than a couple of days without checking out Anthro's website or reading blogs dedicated to Anthropologie.  Every time I visit my parents, I make a trip to their local Anthropologie store to check things out and usually end up leaving with at least one item.  Wish I had one closer to my house!!
Reading other blogs dedicated to Anthropologie have inspired me to strive for a more fashionable, pretty, and chic wardrobe.  What better way to document my journey than to start a blog of my own about all of my Anthro obsessions and other pretty.vintage.chic finds?!  I hope my blog will help inspire your fashion sense, give other Anthro-addicts their daily fix, and of course, to help rope in some new Anthro-lovers!  Enjoy!

In honor of my first blog post ever, I'll leave you with my first complete Anthro outfit ever!

  1. Hey Meghan,

Congrats on your new blog! I have recently become obsessed with Anthro too and have been following a lot of blogs. I was never able to shop at Anthro before, but I recently lost some weight, so now I am having the best time! I came across your post over on Jacquelyn's blog. I think your engagement photos are beautiful.
